Kola
Sub-processors
Last updated: June 1, 2026
Kola is provided by Perennify Ltd ("Perennify", "we", "us"). Kola is local-first: it indexes and stores your data on your own Mac, and we operate no server that receives, stores, or processes your personal data. By default, the data from the accounts you connect — including Slack — never leaves your device.
A few features are off until you turn them on, and depend on an outside provider to work. When you enable one, it sends only the data that feature needs. Those providers — our "sub-processors" — are listed below. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Our sub-processors
| Provider | Purpose | Data processed | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | AI assistant (Claude) and the Claude plugin | Your prompts and the specific records the assistant reads to answer them | Only when you use the AI assistant or plugin |
| OpenAI | Optional AI features you configure with your own OpenAI key | The prompts and records the related feature sends to generate a response | Only if you provide an OpenAI key and use that feature |
| Apollo.io | Contact enrichment | Contact lookup details, to retrieve additional information | Only if you provide an Apollo key and enable enrichment |
| Automattic (Gravatar) | Profile photo lookups | A hashed form of a contact's email address | Only if you enable Gravatar photos |
| Cloudflare | Static website hosting and app-update delivery | Standard technical request data (IP address, user agent) — not your indexed personal data | When you visit the site or check for updates |
If you don't enable the optional features above, the data they would send never leaves your Mac. Each sub-processor handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not use your data — or share it with any sub-processor — to train AI or machine-learning models.
Changes
We may update this list as Kola evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
